Do we have numbers on the SEC as a whole? I think we should only look at SEC games as, for example, games vs. Clemson officiated by Big East officials don't support the hypothesis.
Comparing just Bama to LSU only proves Bama has more than LSU, not that it's an annomoly in itself.
If we look at the baseline for all SEC games and then compare LSU and Bama, we may have something.
Even, so it only proves they have less penalties, but from there, you can look at individual incidents.

In order to be convincing you should include all SEC teams in your analysis and perform an ANOVA with Bonferonni post-hoc analyses.
Alternatively, you could do a multinomial regression but that is messier.
All a t-test tells you is that there is a significant difference between two groups. But of course your comparison is arbitrary.

Excellent points Stingray and duly noted. But truthfully WHO GIVES A shite! If LSU just takes care of business and wins their one-on-one matchup against Ala. in 2012 we are headed to the BCS for 2nd straight season instead of the mighty Crimson Tide. They beat us on our home field! I know they played a wuss eastern division schedule compared to LSU but they still deserve to be in the BCS title game in 2012 instead of LSU. Enough already. Just win BABY! We did not..... Always next year! Geaux Tigers!

I don't understand why a certain percent of the people on this website want to cut down the poster, no matter what he says. If you disagree then disagree but you don't have to make fun of someone for their opinion.
