Like I said I do not know how the shrimping is on the lake. And as far as there being a a lot of sport fishing, I guess there is a lot more on the south end of the lake. North end doesnt have much to speak of, yea you can fish the bridge and trestles but its very hit or miss. When I think of places with a big sport fishing base I think GI, Venice, all there area around there, not so much the lake. And yea I should restate that, they do very well with crabs.

I can guarantee you Lake Pontchartrain/Lake Borgne/Rigolets/Intracoastal/MRGO/Manchac area has more sport fishing than Grand Isle & Venice has combined and yes all of these areas I listed are fishable from any launch on Lake Pontchartrain and are all considered the Lake Pontchartrain estuary.

I have never fished the lake. I just think it would be a battle that mother nature would win.

You may suck at fishing, because I can tear up the specks in Lake P almost whenever I want.

Maybe on the south end in the rigolets, there is a reason why tons of people living around the lake, either north or south, keep camps on the coast.
