It is BS but it's not like UGA won't be rotated out of out schedule then into Bama's eventually.

if the regular rotation had continued, then bama would have played uga this year and next year.

These "placeholder" schedules created each year are there until we:

1. Go to 16 teams
or
2. Agree to remove the permemnent cross-division opponent
or
3. Agree to a 9 game SEC Schedule

This lazy argument would normally be right, but this is a bridge schedule which apparently is not based on past schedules and has no bearing on future schedules per the SEC office itself. So, actually you're completely wrong. Future schedules can vary wildly and Georgia will end up on Bama's schedule when they end up there.

This is a bridge year.

No bearing on future scheduling.

They skipped forward not one, but two opponents on Bama's standard rotation....which coincidentally is the second worst team in the East.
