Miles couldn't hold a lead versus Bama, so we drop from BCSNCG to Chik bowl

Starting with January 9, this has been one miserable year for Tiger Fans. The blows just keep coming. Doesn't feel like a 10 win season.

It's embarrassing that we're playing on the night of dec 31st instead of during breakfast on jan 1st and I'm sick of you fricking pumpers claiming otherwise...

Can't think of a better way to ring in the new year than with the LSU Tigers!

I remember when the Sugar Bowl was played on New Years Eve... so I'm thinking your post is incorrect.

Excited about the game (except for the fact that my brother has tickets & I can't go cause I'll be on a trip). Still don't like our coach.

Actually this statement is incorrect. From the 1972 through the 1975 seasons, the Sugar Bowl was played on December 31. In 1975, 4th ranked Alabama played in the Sugar Bowl on Dec. 31 and was ranked 3rd in the final poll. On Dec. 31, 1973, no. 1 Alabama played no. 3 Notre Dame. Notre Dame won and ended the season at no. 1. In 1972, no. 2 Oklahoma played no. 5 Penn State on Dec. 31. Oklahoma won and remained no. 2.

I'd rather play on New Years Eve night than on New Years Day morning.

I'd guess Bama and ND would be surprised to here that. They played as #1 and #3 on NewYears Eve 1973.

Who cares? We are still #7. We still finished ahead of 4 teams playing in January from the SEC. Clemson is a better matchup nationally than playing Nebraska or Michigan.

Does the 17.5 hours mean that much to you guys?

List of teams playing in January:
Northwestern
Purdue
Ok State
Pitt
Ole Miss
Kent St.
Ark St.

This list tells me that playing in January does mean shite anymore. What matters is where you are ranked at the end of the season and what you have returning b/c that's what sets you up for a championship run the following year. You people need to stop living in the past. Playing in January is irrelevant unless we are in the BCS.

So you would rather play in the Taxslayer.com Gator Bowl, Heart of Dallas Bowl, Outback Bowl, BBVA Compass Bowl or the GoDaddy.com Bowl because they are played in January? January doesn't mean what it once did when only the best 4 or 5 were in January.

Would I rather be in the Cotton or a BCS Bowl, sure. It didn't work out that way but I would rather be in Atlanta on NYE than any of the bowls above or the Capital One with its shitty stadium (new field included).
