Some key OB members do this on the reg, but I won't out them.

No that's pretty shitty. It shows the guy is a loser and insecure about his own abilities, or lack thereof.

It was a nice buck, but I had killed bigger ones. So, dude had his kid shoot it while it was stone cold dead... Stalked it like a wild Apache. BAM. High Fives, Miller Time.

I had the reverse happen. Was in Tensas back in the early years when does tags led to a scene out of the old land rush movie scenes.
Was one bottom over from a guy, I shot a doe early. Sitting in my tree, asleep, gun unloaded. Hear a shot his way, a few minutes later I hear another shot. Then a line of deer come thru, the back doe had both front legs shot and was walking on half legs. I chambered a round and shot her.
My Dad comes along mid morning, we get together and backtrack the blood trail to the bottom, find hair and bone and there is this guy. We ask him if he shot a doe, he says yeah.....but I missed! We explain we now have three deer for two folks and that he really did hit it and it is just a couple hundred yards over and show him the bone and shite right in front of us. He says, nope, missed and turns and walks off. My dad had shot a buck, it was cold, so we hang one of my does up in a tree to keep coyotes off. Came back and got it on Sunday. Game warden looked at me like I was crazy bringing a deer out that had been hanging up in a tree all night, all stiff and stretched out.
I came clean and told him the story, he didn't give me a hard time.

I think its wrong to say that without mentioning names. We have some regulars that are always posting pics and its no need to raise suspision of the honest ones.

i let my dad claim a dove i knew was mine. it was the only bird he killed that day. karma is a bitch
my great uncle is notorious for shooting doves as they are falling from being shot by someone else. i would say 30-40% of the birds he's shot in the last 10 years were someone elses.

If there is any dispute over who shot it I usually just let someone else claim it. Means I get to keep shooting and chances of them actually wanting to keep and clean theirs are slim so I end up with lots of tasty little breast

Foot and Alx let me pretend like I shot some of the ducks they killed, just so they don't go over their limit.

That's different and universally accepted

We used to hunt right north of natchez in Fayette, MS. I killed a doe one morning around thanksgiving. We would clean the deer in the shed behind the house. We were on the outskirts of town. I cleaned the deer, deboned it, and put it on ice in the ice chest. We dorve back on the property to dump the guts, when I got back my camp, my deer had been stolen out of the ice chest. They left everything else.
At first I was so angry, who the **** would do that. But then realized they didnt harm anything else - guns, dogs, gear, trucks. They simply needed the meat more than I did. I just wished that had asked, I would have given them some.

I am too, because these 3 month old twin boys are not letting me go to kill anything so I can post it.

I would never claim someone else's deer or show pictures that aren't mine. But back when I used to duck hunt a lot, I had this one buddy who was a little high strung, and we used claim that we had shot his ducks about 50% of the time just to mess with him.
"Man, did you see that shot? That is one of the best ones I've made in a long time."
"No, man, I shot that duck. Didn't you hear me shoot?"
