My crappy 20 minute color update of a logo I made last spring.
Kinda looks like our state flag.
DISCLAIMER: The wordmark (lettering) needs a lot of work, but it's late and I'm going to bed.

There are some images shown and linked to in this that shows old school Pelicans stuff in red-black-gold and red-blue-gold.

I think with the red and navy they will definitely be going with a retro type of look as well.
I love the creole blue, I think it makes us unique, biut I guarantee no one will have trouble finding a hat that they like in the new red gold and navy color scheme, which is a plus moving forward.

I didn't see it as a PR issue at first so much as a business failing, but it's probably both.
Things like this can have disruption on sales, interrupt other kinds of message control, and, potentially, affect the decision about the rebrand.
I mean, how do you call it not authoritative when it's her saying? How do you deny it? If there is an issue, how do you change.
So far, there has been no retraction of the details, just a clarification on it not being carved in stone, and that was rapid. Almost knee jerk.
That tells me, as much as anything that Mrs. Gayle was speaking the unvarnished truth as she knows it.

I'm ok with Pelicans if the logo is good, but this logo is high school quality.
I hope they don't plan to use much of the baseball artwork.

I'm doubting they would.
It's posted mostly to show how the colors Mrs. Gayle referred to match the Pelicans and how the combination can go together. Fans of them think of the best combinations for them, opponents think of the worst. It's better to anchor at some plausible point, then roam.
