10-2 seems to be considered a failure to some of you. So, please explain the failure that was this past season.

Well I guess if you purchase tickets, then you basically pay that salary.

if these guys hit their goal 80% of the time in their job, they'd be strutting around like a rooster.

I have no credentials other than a season ticket holder...and the man deserves a raise.

I'm an employee whose job it is to meet my goals each quarter. I have consequenses to pay when I fall short of those goals. That makes me qualified to have the opinion that CLM is not raise-worthy. LSU is a premiere football program - our goal is to win the championship; not to be close. It's Ole Miss's goal to be close but not ours.

I would like to see what the ignorant fricks on this board do at their job for a yearly raise and or bonus that are bitching so much about Miles getting a raise for being one of the top 5 in his occupation in the country.

I'm sure most of the people on here aren't even in the top 5 at their current job, let alone the entire country, and I'm willing to bet they would throw a shite fit if they didn't get an annual raise/bonus.

My credentials: I work for a living, and just on principle, I believe in getting more money. Just like the founder of Faber College said, "Knowledge Is A Good Thing," I say "More Money Is More."

I'd be happy if all people who work got a 50% raise. shite, make it 100%.

"So, please explain the failure that was this past season."

No failure at all. No reasonable person was suggesting that his pay be cut (which would have required contractual renegotiation) or that he be fired. The question was whether he deserved a significant extension or raise. In my opinion, the answer to that question was "no." Regardless, i am glad he is staying.

No problem with the raise and the way LSU got played. Lets just be clear he never considered leaving.

10-2 is a great result but not worthy of a raise.

Miles was the 5th highest-paid coach in the country. His performance at LSU has been top-five.

Looking at the data (which you can do here #shamelessselfadvertising), Miles is a lot closer to the 10th highest paid coach than the 4th. A LOT closer. And I could easily see a couple of other names in there (Chip Kelly anyone?) who can expect a significant pay raise before too long.

If Miles is top-5, and you want to keep a top-5 coach, then you need to pay him enough to keep him top-5 in pay. He was getting close to falling behind Kirk Ferentz, for Christ's sake. A raise is perfectly understandable.

Are you satisfied with 10-2 and playing second fiddle to Alabama?
Honest question.

I'm not.
