A friend that owns a place in Metairie paid Mastercard $75,000 last year

I was talking with one of the owners of a popular po-boy and plate lunch place in old metairie about this. He had just started taking cards in the recent past. Can't remember, but it was a big number he was paying.
He said it was nothing though compared to the business he was going to lose from businesses who needed catering and gift cards, etc during the holidays.

I pretty much will avoid any business of any kind that will not take my credit card. Sals snoball stand is one of the few I will still pay cash too.

Even had a damn very busy pharmacy by my house that just started taking cards 1.5 years ago. Of course 65% of their business were blue hairs who didn't mind writing checks.

That's what I've heard almost verbatim.

This, and some of the more suspect "ethnic" joints that either can't afford to mess with credit or are evading taxes, I expect to pay cash.

However, for a business as established as Jones Creek Cafe for instance, shame on them.
