If he leaves who the frick cares. I love how people assume that the program will just vanish with the almighty Miles leaving.

Dear lord people get your head out of your butt. Most wanted Miles gone after his second game he ever coached here. Remember that game? The Tennessee game.

If he is using this to get more money from LSU well I say EAT IT LES. LSU is bigger than you and you can take your arse to R-KANSAS so we can whip your arse yearly and love it.

There are plenty of coaches out there that would the love the opportunity to be the head coach here and Id be willing to bet we would all be surprised at the list.

name them. you keep saying this but never provide this list of great coaches that would equal or exceed miles' performance to date AND would leave their current job to come here.

I'll wait.....likely for a long arse time.

Fans aren't suppose to care if one of the most successful coaches in LSU history leaves?

I also remember a national championship, 2 SEC championships, and averaging over 10 wins a season.

A coach and his agent isn't suppose to use high dollar job offers to obtain raises for himself and his staff?

I think you would be surprised. Sure there would be a lot of coaches lining up to take the job, but none will have the track record Miles has. What's the last school to make 3 consecutive hires that have gone on to win NCs?

Yea then he won 82 more games over 8 seasons. But yea sounds like a good idea to let him go.

It's funnier that there are people that think LSU will just move on and sustain this success.

There's absolutely nothing that says LSU is immune to becoming mediocre. There's no school in this country that is immune to that. See: Alabama before Saban, Texas, USC, Tennessee.

All you guys hoping he leaves to Arkansas better be careful what you wish for.....

Louisiana would be surrounded by Sumlin to the west, Miles to the north, Saban to the east. How's that for trying to keep recruiting pipelines in tact with a new coach?

Are you willing to give up a SURE THING in 10 win seasons, possible BCS appearances, etc etc with Miles, are do you want to give him up and POSSIBLY hire a new guy that may or may not fit? If you don't hire the right guy, you're looking at a 4-5 year rebuilding issue after that replacement is gone.

It's gonna be aiight, really, it is. in fact we probably will be better off. Imagine having a GREAT offense and defense! Sure we might lose a game or two here or there, but think about how much fun we will have watching the games again...EXCITEMENT!

Miles isn't going to Ar-kansas because it would be suicide for his career. When it comes to game day coaching and game planning, he is no better than Houston Nutt (and the Piggies have already been down that road). What has saved him to this point is: 1) outstanding recruiting (Thank you, Frank Wilson) 2) incredible athletic development (Thank you, Tommy Moffitt) and 3) solid defense (Thank you, John Chavis).

Apparently no coach out there could have walked into the situation Les did, and accomplish a 2 loss National Championship and 2 SEC Championships in 7 years.

Just ask yourself one question....If Les replaced Dinardo in 1999, does he have the winning percentage he has now, and is LSU in the shape it's in now?

you people are idiots, You guys act like good coaches are a dime a dozen, look around there aren't that many great coaches out there. Do you idiots not remember Dinardo and Hallman? It is not easy to build and maintain a program but it wont take but a year or two to dismantle a program. You don't want a winning coach to leave your program. I don't believe Less is going to leave but you guys need to wake up and realize we have one of the best at LSU and we need to keep him.
