Begins December 8th, available through the 16th. Went last year and even if you have had very little exposure to Jewish food like me, it is a fantastic meal. Menu:
1st course
Crispy potato latkes
with salmon caviar salad, spiced goat cheese and mostarda
2nd course
Spinach and ricotta crespelle
roasted garlic fonduta
3rd course
Short ribs “Hamin”
soft quail eggs, slow cooked beans and heirloom carrots
Dolce
Pasta fritta, cheesecake and satsuma curd
$60 per person, available December 8th – 16th, 3 p.m. to 11 p.m.
For reservations, please call (504) 648-6020

60 bucks (+ tip) for a meal that is comprised of potatoes, cheese, spinach, garlic, eggs, beans, carrots, a little beef, milk, butter and spices..
I could make that at home for 1/3 of the price

If you can make a good matzo ball soup with that, I'm coming over to your house.

Fairly certain any meal in any restaurant can be made at home for 1/3rd the price.

I think the odds are higher than "fairly".

Actually x 3 is a fairly common multiplier when estimating menu cost from actual food cost.
And if somebody can make that meal for 2 at home, at that level, and for under $60 total, I'd be impressed.

Sometimes, I just want to pay extra for the service and the atmosphere and not having to do the dishes.

Do you have to complain about something in every thread?

Ditto. And by sometimes, I mean, often.
I've gotten to where I really don't do much recipe experimenting anymore unless cooking for more than 2. Kind of sucks, but I just end up wasting so much food.

Prob not,but that menu isn't what I'd expect when walking into the average Jew's Hanukkah dinner either. That level could be done for under $60 fairly easily.

Not quite the same, but I would think most people spend more than that for something like Thanksgiving or Christmas dinner.

You have 8 nights to party. I'm cool with someone cooking and serving for at least one of them.

I'm not Jewish, just a fan of eating different foods.
