To add to this post, would you say that boneheaded calls by Miles and his staff have cost LSU at least one game per season in this fantastic 6-7 year run?
Not a troll attempt at all and I love where this program is, but answer that question.

I think the offense is exactly the reason we have these close games. Even when we do move the ball it always seems we have a dumb mistake, turnover, or awful play call that prevents us from putting these games away. I give the staff credit for making adjustments after the Florida game but I still think they should be replaced. The offense is what is holding this team back and keeping us from being a dominant team.

Blame the defense now
Sure the defense carried the team through the last 2-3 seasons, but if you want to put your head in the sand regarding their play(by their play, I really just mean Chavis prevent defense) the last 3 games, go ahead.

Who is responsible for the offense and defense?
I hope you aren't one of those people who blames Miles when the defense plays poor, but gives Chavis credit when the defense is dominant.
because you sure sound like one.

I am one of those people who blame the head coach for everything, because he gets the glory for the wins and the losses. The head coach is responsible for all three facets of the game. Those coordinators work for him, and the buck stops there.

This works both ways. How many games has LSU won because a "boneheaded" call by Miles worked out? Just off the top of my head...Florida 2007, Auburn 2007, Florida 2010, Bama 2010. The calls are only boneheaded when they don't work. Other times, Miles is Lesticles.

I do see your point but let's be real. LSU has top 5 recruiting classes year in/year out, we get the best of the best football players available for the most part. We should roll teams regularly, but we don't. That's the point of the OP and I just expanded on it with my comment. The exception is the 2011 regular season, that team did exactly what they should have done until the NC game, then what? Our coaching staff got exposed like fools, I'm sorry but it's inexcusable and it costs those kids wins every season. It's just a fact, no denying it

Two things. Do half of our fellow Tiger fans even watch other games? Passing attacks that include timing plays, general use of TE and screen passes! That's right....screen passes. Two words truly describe our mediocre offense. Red Zone %

So are you calling our offense putrid, because its not; Arkansas and Auburn just have great defenses

A win is a win is a win. Be happy...damn.

I know this means absolutely nothing but this lack of penalties by Bama is getting fishy. 2 penalties for 10 yds today. These are amateurs and not even the pros are that disciplined. We know of at least one on their team who is suspect with natural intelligence to know how to count much less what's the count so whats the secret?

Well you are right. Auburn held Bama to 49 today.

200 yds vs Florida. And blow outs are important, but if we can't create more offense we have week after week of holding our breath hoping our iffy CB's don't make a game losing mistake. Score 40 pts and the defense can be aggressive, not hanging on.

Those who label other negatiger will never understand that. I'm not saying score fourty on Bama and Florida, But hell, is scoring 40 on Auburn and Arkansas being unreasonable

Considering the following:
How bad Bama looked against us and got spanked by TAMU.
How Oregon had an awful schedule, then lost the one game they had to win all year.
How K-State lost to Baylor.
How awful UF looked all year.
How we beat TAMU and USCe.
Outside of UGA and ND, why aren't we being seriously considered as the 2nd best team in the country and a possibility for the BCS? Because of the following:
1. Against cupcake teams like, Auburn, Arkansas, Ole Miss, and Towson, you can't say we played like a #1 team.
2. Against teams where we did blow out our opponent, like Washington and North Texas, Mett got jacked.
3. We lost games against opponents that weren't head over heels better than us.
The offense, in particular the line needs to change. Diving up the middle for 1-2 yards on every play is not a winning strategy. 4 quality running backs are no good if we can't get an offensive line that can manhandle the opponent's defense.
The defense I can't complain about, outside of the last two minutes of both halves vs Bama. Florida was just being worn out, I can't blame them too much.
Here's to next season I guess

Ole Miss is much better at this point in the season than they were at the start of the season. Look at what they're doing to Mississippi State tonight.
