If the Saints were to win out....it wouldnt matter what tampa's record is.
So yes...We want them to beat Atlanta.

Delusional?
The topic is "Teams to root for this week/weekend," with the unspecified but inherent intention in said rooting being the best possible situation for the Saints come playoff time - 2012 NFC South Champions.

and your point? the 1 went under the win column. it's done and over with. matt ryan had the worst game he's had all season and the worst he will likely have for the rest of the season. yet they still won. granted, it was against a very shitty team.
i would love for the Saints to win the division. but realistically, it's not going to happen.

Jesus tittyfricking Christ, last week the dude said to root for the Falcons, and he didn't catch this much shite

Rooting for Minnesota isn't necessarily the right choice (not saying its wrong either). I think the bears are severely overrated and I don't think they even make the playoffs. There next 3 games are minny twice and Seattle. I think they have the pack one more time before the season concludes. These 3 teams are directly ahead of us so they'll be knocking each other off. Seattle will be tough to catch, but if the bears keep fricking up, Seattle can take the 5th and we can take the 6th.

Yeah, I'd start with baby steps and hope to catch a wild card spot. Winning the division would just be an unexpected, pleasant surprise.

I'm not trying to harass you. Like i said, good work on the other game analyses, IMO.
Last week, whomever it was benefitted from favorable timing. Good OP, as a whole.
Also, the historical record clearly shows that Jesus preferred blowies.

I can tell the people who are ignorant in this thread.
In order to make the playoffs, teams either win the division or make the wildcard.
You set your goal to win the division. When you are mathematically eliminated, then and only then should teams think about the wildcard.

That's why I was so tossed about it. I think the winner of that division has an 11-5 record and the wild card is one game behind that. but the Bears have had an easy schedule. I think if Jay comes back and plays how he's played so far this season, the Bears have a good shot at winning the game.

Minnesota at Chicago (12:00 PM, FOX) -- Another very hard one. Chicago is at 7-3 and Minnesota is at 6-4.
Chicago always seems to collapse later in the season with injuries and what not. I think Minn is playing better right now. I'm going to cheer for Minn to win out and Chicago to collapse.
Just IMO. Who has the harder schedule?

Never!!! I'm just not going to watch this game.

So cut your nose off to spite your face?
The odds of you getting a wild card are exponentially higher than a 9-1 Falcons team tanking the season.

minny has Chicago and GB twice, and houston thrown in there with the rams. the bears have it a bit easier with minny twice, seattle, lions, GB, cards. which is why I chose them over minny.
eta: and minny has 4 road games. chicago has 3.

my view is to get into the plyoff contention for a wildcard first - if the division is in the cards, it will happen - but if we don't get into the wildcard mix, then it won't overly matter too much.

exactly. if the schedule plays out the way I have outlined in the OP, then the Saints ARE the 2nd wild card team, i believe, over seattle, though there may be some tie breaker seattle owns that I don't know of
