Auburn\Arkansas\Fisher\Strong Question

We’ve all heard the names mentioned with certain schools search for a new head coach. Some of the names are current head coaches of teams that can potentially be playing in major bowls, Jimbo Fisher and Charlie Strong.
Can a team in the SEC, namely Auburn and Arkansas (Gruden is a lock already for UT correct??) wait until after the bowl games (FSU and Louisville projected to play on January 1st) to announce their hire? Or would they announce the hiring of one of the head coaches and the head coach not coach in the bowl game? I can see this if it was a lower tier bowl, but to potentially not coach in a BCS bowl should be a major deal. Or would either school perhaps make a quick hire in order to establish the coaching staff and try to keep the recruiting class together?
And would Tuberville not coach a bowl game in order to be hired at Arkansas?

I think it depends on the school hiring and the coach. Some programs are going to realize that it is more important to get the right guy, even if you have to wait a month and suffer recruiting issues for one season.
Some are going to feel slighted and take it personal that a coach won't leave his team high and dry. So, they'll probably hire a worse coach just to get someone early.
And, the same goes for current coaches who will move. Some will stay out of loyalty, some will leave you high and dry.
IMO, it is far more important to make the right hire. The whole idea of "we have to move quick" is ridiculous. Even if you are trying to salvage a #1 recruiting class, it isn't worth it to bring in a guy who you are going to have to replace in 3-5 years.
I think you'll see both scenarios this year.

that you are either talking out of your butt, or that your administration is putting themselves in a tight spot to hire someone quickly even if the best hire isn't made.

I don't think a coach being affiliated with a school in a bowl will have much impact. When Nutt left us, he was out the door before our bowl game with Mizzou.
Then again, I'm sure there are gentleman's agreements in place which may override anything I've said . Arkansas has been looking since April, so I'm not too worried we'll rush in and make the wrong hire - especially because fans are impatient.
ETA: Although it appears to be inevitable, Auburn hasn't even fired Chiz. I don't think they're at risk at this time for making a premature hire either.

Who knows. We'll screw it up, though. We'll probably name Smart as our next coach.

We have been searching for a coach since April...not last week

Putting yourself in a bubble by giving a hire date is a horrible idea and could screw you out of a great hire.

Unfortunately, I do.

well, at that point, it was true. they just kept asking Saban to dance until he finally said yes. Which brings up another question. At what point do we see another school go all out on one coach and refuse to take no for an answer? It was pretty stubborn of Bama. And, if Saban had said no, they would've been stuck in a real bind. Any chance we see that happen again anytime soon?
