it was an epic rant, but it was not an answer to a question, it was his opening statement

may have been referencing this piece indirectly tho

He was obviously trying to suppress rage. He was pissed at a reporter for crapping on an otherwise special day for R. Shepard. In his rage, he realized he was detracting the positive attention that should have gone to his seniors on their night. I don't fault him one bit for rambling a bit.

Amen.
I once saw an interview in which a reporter said something derogatory about a Florida player, & Urban Meyer just flat told the reporter: "If that was MY son, we'd be going at it right now!" My opinion of Meyer dramatically improved after I heard him stand up for the kid that way. Whatever a parent of a recruit might think of Miles or Meyer as a football mind, you can't ask for much more that this in a guy who's going to mentor your kid.

NoGeaux, you think it was his opening statement? If so, it surely is in response to Rabalais' piece in the Advocate this week, which I thought was truly classless. The kid's body isn't even cold and he's doing a post-mortem on his career as a bust.

I saw the video last night but couldn't get anywhere near TD/ScoreBoard, but this was my question all along: had someone asked a question or mentioned the article, or did CLM lead off with this? Obviously if he did, it had stuck in his craw and he needed to get it out.

Good for him! In those unbridled moments when scripts and coach-speak go out the window, you know why he's been good for the program, even when he's making bone-headed calls that drive us nuts.
