Cloud Atlas just missed the cut because it is still in theaters. But it had only made 24 million of an estimated 100 million dollar budget.

I'm aware of the fricking difference, they're just extremely intertwined, to where if one fails, the other does as well. Marketing should question everything advertising does and vice versa. Its equally their fault.
No, it's not, but keep thinking that.

It really didn't look interesting at all and the ads tell you precisely dick about the stories. Just because the Wachos (can't spell their damn names) threw together a decently good, very innovative movie over a dozen years ago in The Matrix doesn't mean you can plaster their name on all their movies and people will give a shite. They aren't Spielberg, Nolan, Jackson, or Cameron.

idk i guess...the trailers made it look like a really weird movie that required some thinking to understand it which is exactly what it was and is the type of movie im drawn to. to each his own

If I had the this hypothetical membership pass that OML was talking about, I probably would have seen it. Other than that, there was no way I was paying to see this piece.

No they are. The marketing department is pretty much the first to see what the advertisers are up to. If this isn't what they're looking for and won't appeal to anyone, then it is their fault as well for not calling out the advertisers.

Yeah, only rats RA. Thought about it with you, but I'm above that.
