I would get a second 7950 wayyyy over 2 660ti. The 660ti is about on par with a 7870 (depending on clocks).
I got my second card not too long ago because I had bought two more monitors to run eyefinity. I bought both my cards off of eBay for $250 in early september and $225 in mid-late october. Killer deal on both of them

Pretty sure I saw somewhere that some of the new AM3+ boards do. Need to see if the new FM2 does or not.

I was reading some reviews and some had the 660Tis above the 7950s. Not sure. I need to research some more. I might just wait. Don't the new 8 series come out in December?

I play on PC primarily, but I'm not sure I'll be getting blops2 for pc or for ps3 yet.

This is what the majority of what I read says...
7970 and 680
7950 and 670
7870 and 660ti
7850 and 560ti
A lot of people prefer the 79xx series over the 670 and 680 because it is a FAR better overclocker, and has a higher memory bus (better for multi-monitor setups)
EDIT: I heard the 8xxx series will come out December-February

Those of you that play primarily pc, what do you use for controls? Do you connect a console controller or something else?
Posted on 11/12/12 at 10:58 pm to Mr Gardoki
I usually use a keyboard and mouse unless it's a game like geometry wars then I use a controller

all that gear for a single 1080p monitor?
Well, I have 4 monitors connected in total, but I use the single 27" monitor for gaming. I may be in the minority, but I don't really like eyefinity.
Been eyeing a dell ultrasharp. Maybe after christmas.

Yes, I have all 3 consoles but never play them.. at all. They are used for streaming NetFlix in the rooms they sit in really.
I really only play PC games, for me I enjoy the picture quality/graphics on PC. Also, you can play with an XBox gamepad on almost every game out there.
ETA:
Yes, on 11/20.. should be fun.

You aren't, I tried it and sold all 3 monitors for 2 Koreans.
I hated the surround experience.
You are talking about a dell ultra sharp, why not get a Korean IPS? They use the same LG panels as the ultrasharps for 1/2 the price. Plus, I like not having the Anti-Glare film on the monitor.

do any AMDs support pci 3.0 yet? i know no am3+ or fm1 boards do.
No need to, it has been proven all the bandwidth is not yet used for pci 2.0 yet.
Probably will take 2 refresh cycles of GPUs for this to happen.

How much did that watercooling setup run you? And how cool do your video cards run? I'm looking into it for my 2 7950s and 3570k

The setup, was around $500 with NO GPU blocks.
I just put the CPU under water, but I went all out with all top of the line shtt. The fittings alone were $80-$90 bucks.
My CPU never gets over 45C under full load and my system is a whisper compared to the air cooler I had before.
3770K 4.5Ghz @ 1.28V Avg 43C on full load.
The reason I didn't put the 690 under water is because it is a dual GPU card. They run much cooler than 680s in SLi. My cards run about 55-60C under full load @ 1115Mhz OC.
ETA: In the future, IDK if I will do it again. Probably will just buy a closed loop system then put that in a Push/Pull config.

I'm upgrading to Ivy-E when it drops sometime during January. Haswell and Broadmore will probably be skipped by me.
Next mainstream cheap for me won't be until Skylake. I'm just not seeing the performance increase and really feel like I should have more processing power in my config.

I forgot those existed. They were hard to find when I bought my 1080p 27" but now they seem pretty easy to get on ebay for under $400. The mixed reviews scare me, but the positive reviews seem glowing. I think it must come down to which one you buy, and how much of a gamble you want to take.
I'm out of desk space, though, and my wife would surely notice a monitor upgrade.

I have purchased 3 from the same seller.
All 3 were great. I suggest looking into the CrossOvers. The bezels look much better than other brands.
Yea, 2560x1440 will put a load on your GPU over a 1920x1080. That is a lot of pixels to render, but everything looks fckking great.
ETA:
This is the seller I bought my 2 CrossOvers and 1 Yamakasi Catleap.

Cool, I'm bookmarking the seller's page. Glad to see that they always try their best to choose Best item & to satisfy with Buyer.
