i guarantee the Rose Bowl remembers 45,000 requests for tickets back in 2006....
yes, but wasn't that going to be a matchup with USC?

This doesn't make any difference. If LSU had a Rose Bowl bid, it would sell out just as fast if we were going to play ND or Nebraska.

I think it was.

LSU fans, me included, want to go somewhere we haven't ever been or haven't been in a long time. Rose and Fiesta easily top the list. Cap One or Cotton and I'm not going, I've been to Jerryworld twice and went to the Cap One when we lost to Iowa (my last game as a student). I hope the bowl selection committees realize this and choose LSU accordingly.

Yeah, but the postseason requests were due way before anyone knew who we'd playing in the Rose Bowl (and before anyone knew we'd even have a legitimate chance to play in the Rose Bowl). Actually, at the time requests were due, most people would have had USC penciled into the national title game (before losing the final regular season game vs UCLA)

I don't think so. USC was projected to go to the BCSNC game if they won out, so the Rose Bowl was going to have to fill in a team for USC. The Trojans ended up losing to UCLA and had to settle for beating Michigan in the Rose Bowl.
