Please baby Jesus and baby Mr. Coach Chavis;

Remove the God Damn prevent formation at once.
We do not know how to execute it properly. If its intended to hand out chunks of yards and a score within 60 secs, then its working.

I agree with this post. When your front 4 can't get pressure consistently, it's time to get creative. I freaking hate the stupid arse rush 4, drop 7 strategy.

it's not really a prevent thing as much as the Jalens don't look particularly adept at playing zone. they've had their positive moments (see Collins' pick of Manziel for an example), but they seem like they give too much ground initially and then don't break on the ball that well once it's in the air.

I like how that fact that we got the pick 6 covers up the fact that we almost allowed MSU (just like South Carolina, Texas A&M and Alabama) to drive the length of the field in late game situations with relative ease.

Of course, I'm not sure how you can expect the players to have a killer instinct to put teams away, when you run a FB dive on 3 and 4 in the fourth quarter on your opponents side of the field. The play calling has gotten much better, however, two weeks in a row now we have played conservative when the opportunity to really throw the knock out punch on offense was presented.

I don't understand why people insist we were in prevent against Bama. You don't blitz against prevent. The last drive against Bama we blitzed on every play including right into the screen pass to Yeldon.

Man I couldn't agree more. We showed against bama we have the best defense In the country. Week in and week out our defense ruins every offensive gameplan thrown at them. And then when all we have to do is let our d get out there and play the same way they have been playing, we go into this conservative crap. My question is does les have some sort of influence on this? That prevent made aj mccarron have a huge story and handed bama a victory. And all that noise about mcarron being great for that drive. That's nonsense. The media should have bashed the entire lsu coaching staff and not credited bama so much. Don't get me wrong I hate people who want les fired. He just needs to be a little less stubborn. Lsu had the superstar complex just like USC this year. I think a lot of players thought they would steamroll everyone to bama.

New DB coach and new techniques are still being coached. That being said the Safety play this year has jumped off the cliff, the CB play has been outstanding except for Simon.

Before this season everyone was so high on him and thought he would be gone in the first round. I tried to explain to ppl why he wouldn't and ppl jumped down my throat. I guess I was right.

We play defense like we have all game we beat USCe 24-14, aTm 24-12, and Alabama 17-14. Also JFF under 200 passing and McCarron under 100 passing.

Miss St was passing up and down the field all game long, not just at the end. They made it look like they were the best offense we'd played all year.

the ole prevent

In the words of Tom Landry, the prevent defense prevents you from winning. While it may not have cost us except for Bama, it has made some of the games closer than they should have been.
