Many threads on this last night. My response to one of them:
We (wife and 2 kids) left early in fourth. Kids were tired. Most leaving at that time had kids with them.
We hit the homecoming parade this morning then chimes for lunch then tailgating. Kids were done after all that. no way I'm sitting in traffic with cranky kids for 2 hours when I can leave little early and be home in 15 minutes.
Years ago, I never left early, but once you start bringing the family things change. I've been to every game this year, home and away, so I'm a big/ committed fan; but I'm not going to make the kids or wife stay past their breaking point no matter what the score or opponent is. The Tigers are important, but I will be responsible for 4 empty seats late in the game very often because of family.

Why even go to the games then?!!!! I get that you have young tired kids, I have two young boys that would be tired and cranky too in those circumstances but it sounds like you planned poorly. Here's a suggestion: give your tickets to fans that care more about the game than all the other stuff, you can go to all the parades and parties and tailgates you want and our team will be supported by real fans when they need it.

Would do the same. Get the little Tigers to bed. That's a long day for anyone.

Game started at 6:00pm. Not 7:00, 7:30, 8:00, etc.

We live in an Obama world -- watch out your tickets will be redistributed.

So do you leave early for away games too since you go to all the games?

This is the issue here...for many people the game itself has become secondary. And that is fine...to each his own. But the fact of the matter is that tailgating trumps the game for a lot of people these days. If there were no tailgating and just the game, I bet lots more people would stay til the end of the game.

Your teaching your kids bad habits bro. My kids were tired and cranky but I made them suck it up and we didn't leave until 00:00 was on the clock. You got to teach them young!
