I'm fixing up a boat for some family and no one seems to be able to find the key. I just called a guy to come work on the engine and now we are stalled. Any suggestions?

Call yamaha with the sec numbers. They might be able to tell you ther number of the key that you could get thru dealership. Or call a dealership.

can you pull the switch out and bypass it? hotwire the battery to the starter?

Or pull the switch and replace with a new one that you do have a key for.
