I told myself the same thing yesterday. Miles did the right thing.

All he's charged with right now is a misdemeanor. As a matter of precedent, didn't Miles establish that it's ok to be on the team with pending misdemeanor charges since he reinstated JJ last year as soon as the charges were dropped from felony assault to simple battery (which is a misdemeanor)? Just unclear why everybody is now saying this was the final nail in TM7's coffin when clearly there has already been a precedent set?

You are aware of TM's history with weed when he was on the team, right?

You have him getting suspended for the AU game last year because of the synthetic pot stuff, then in the off season, he had a run in in NOLA and he had pills, weed, something like that on him, he was dismissed from the team, and now this.....

Nail in coffin.

Come on man, what do you think the chances are of him playing another down at LSU?

I'm not saying it's impossible but it's near impossible at this point.

It took him less than three months to get arrested after getting kicked off the team for the very thing he was arrested for.

I was unaware of any incident in NOLA. And yes, I get the history. My point is why does everybody insinuate that this was the final nail? For the record, I never thought he was coming back on the team. But my point is the insinuation is that "this" incident was the final nail. I'm just saying Miles set a precedent last year. Why is JJ's case different? Afterall, his charges originally started as a felony. TM7 has never been charged with a felony. T-Bob and the list goes on of players with misdemeanors. Just saying.

Not to mention there is no conviction, just pending charges. The same status JJ had (and still has) from Shady's.

Come on, man.

After his history, the ties must be severed at some point. That was started with his dismissal, not indefinite suspension but dismissal and if he was so "set" on being on the right path, staying clean, etc, he wouldn't have put himself in the position he's in now.

There is no way he suits up in P & G again. No way. The coaching staff would catch all sorts of stuff from every person under the sun, not limited to just LSU fans.

JJ was suspended indefinitely. He wasn't dismissed from the team. His case was reduced to a misdemeanor and was allowed back (easy to do because he was still on the team, just suspended until some details were worked out. Those were worked out and he was allowed back).

TM, on the other hand, is no longer on the team. He hasn't been on the team in months. He lost his scholarship. He has to pay his own way now. He is simply another student that was trying to get on the football team and now that won't happen. At least not at LSU. Honestly, I don't know of a big name program that would take him. Maybe USC. That kind of stuff doesn't seem to bother Kiffin.

I get what you're saying with the misdemeanors and stuff but the one factor that is different in this case is that TM is and has not been on the team so there's nothing for him to come back to after some issues have been brought to light.

OK, fair enough. I wasn't trying to defend him for reinstatement. Just trying to get clarity on what seemed as a double standard. Personally, I hope they all go once they've had a run-in with the law. We are very close to having enough excons to remake the Longest Yard as a purple vs. gold game. For once, I would just like to see LSU on TV or in the national news because we are a dominant football team. Not because of arrest, how poor our offense is or how big the golden horseshoe is that's up Miles' arse to continue to win ugly.

I know, man.

Sorry if my post was interpreted as a shot to you, like you were dumb for even asking that question. That wasn't my intention.

It's a legit question.

No harm, no foul.
