We have out talented most teams, and the ones we lost to just out coached us.
And you think that talent is at LSU by accident? or perhaps "manifest destiny" given the great facilities, talent base, etc.? Or actually, perhaps some of the credit should go to the coach for bringing that talent here (as not everyone before him was able to do).
And as far as Miles being out coached, there's only one game (1/9/12) where I think it can definitively be said that Miles was out coached. His teams may sometimes play down to the level of competition but with one exception they have always come ready to play up to the level of anyone, including mighty Alabama. Moreover, at LSU Miles has never lost to a team like UL Monroe, something the great Saban did in spite of the vastly superior talent possessed by Alabama (great coaching job there - so let the "Saban is the greatest coach ever" crowd explain that one).

miles has more talent at lsu than them schools put together so he should win alot more consistently!

I might go with
chip kelly-imagine what he could do at oregon with chavis as his D-coordinator
spurrier-he runs the offense and give the defense to chavis.
I would love it if miles would give a coach like sonny dykes at LaTech the Offensive coordinator job and let him run it. His LaTech offense with chavis Defense.
Dynasty

Did I say it was an accident or that he doesn't get credit? Nope....

Sometimes? It happens far too often and the coaches, particularly the head coach, gets credit for that as well.
Anyone can play up for the challenge but I think a better challenge is getting your team ready and executing like you should against inferior opponents and that's something that hardly happens. We out talent most teams in the SEC. Obviously Miles can recruit but he couldn't coach himself out of a wet paper bag. I accept that and just try to be positive. Constantly bitching isn't going to change anything.

Since 2010 Bama has had 20 players drafted into the NFL, Ga 18, LSU 17, and Fla 15.
Nationally... UCS 19, Okla 18, Miami 18,
Neb 14, Wiscon. 13........
Are we talented...sure. Do we have some telling talent advantage over other top teams...no.imo

This is all the more reason that we need to stop handicapping ourselves on O. We play Bama and UF every year.

My comment is regarding the SEC. When we play those other teams year in year out it'll matter.

I think most people know we need to do better in our passing game.

Yeah, aren't we lucky.
And while we play Fla, who is winning 70% of their SEC games since 05, Bama is playing Tenn, who is winning 44% of their SEC games since 05 while going 1-6 vs Bama.
I know, I know...stop whining...we are LSU.

That's all nice and everything, but the thing is...LM is 18-4 in the SEC since 2010 which happens to top the SEC in wins
You entirely missed the point. Let's recap: The OP compared Miles to replacement candidates from other conferences and less advantaged schools, then came to the conclusion that Miles was a "better coach" because he had a superior record over the same time period. That reasoning is inadequate. As I've pointed out three times, that metric would lead someone to conclude that DiNardo was a better coach than Saban in 1997. Ridiculous. The proper analysis is far more complex.
As to your point about the SEC, let's be honest. There are only a few teams in the conference that consistently matched LSU's depth and talent over the last five years. They are: Florida, UGA, and BAMA. Against those three schools, since 2008, Miles is something like 6-7. (By comparison, saban is something like 7-3 against the same set over the same period.) The rest of the SEC teams clearly have had less talent than LSU over the last half decade (Vandy, KY, Ole Miss, MSU, Arkansas, Tennessee) or have been erratic (SC, AU - Auburn was brilliant in 2010, but that season was sandwiched between 5-7, 8-5, 8-5, and this year's atrocity, they are hard to categorize).
In any event - at least up until he lost the top four players in the state last season - I have always regarded Miles as a marquee recruiter. If last year was an anomoly, I will continue to do so. He deserves credit for the talent level on the team. But by the same token, when he faces one of the big three, his record doesn't indicate a dominant X's and O's coach.

And my post showed that LSU, based off players drafted by the NFL, doesn't have some special talent advantage over the SEC or nationally.
Do we have outstanding talent...sure. Are there other SEC/BCS teams that have outstanding as well...sure.

Top NFL draft wise for talent seen as good enough to be drafted.
Bottomline is that LSU doesn't have the market cornered for college talent.imo

Why do all good and solid Tiger fans have to put up with this bull////. Les Miles has a few problems but most coaches do also.Leave Les alone and let him do his job.

So we're just disregarding that Miles outcoached Saban 2 of the last 3 mathcups?

Know he's not a college coach but Jon Gruden would be the guy for me. He's a natural recruiter, and would develop a hell of a QB.
