Loston seems to always go for the kill shot to me. There are times where he could step in and actually intercept passes, but he is too locked in on the big hit too much IMHO.

There is not "attacking" of the ball from Loston, as well as our other safeties/corners.

I watched him a good bit this weekend and you are right he is playing better, but he still whiffs on more tackles than anyone on the defense and isn't the most fundamentally sound tackler. I personally favor Ronald Martin back there, he seems like the safer option to me. I still think that Loston is a liability in coverage but he plays extremely hard and is improved so I don't have too much of an issue having him back there.

I've been paying more attention to him the past few weeks. He looks like he is getting the hang of being out there. He also hasn't taken himself out of any games by leading with his head.

As far as getting better, yes he has gotten much better. Just wish he would go for the ball at bit more when it's in the air, and not always the kill shot.

I'm glad he's "getting the hang of it". Hey it's only been four years. Good thing he's here for 16 years. Oh? He's not?

seems to be injury free (knock on wood), speaking of wood....he brings it. the kid is around the ball alot and plays with attitude and passion. I think we're just scratching the surface with this kid and he will be the force we all hoped for.

I agree that loston will be a big time player the more time on field he gets. martin MAY be better in coverage but no where close in run support. strong safety has to support on run defense.

Naw man Hatcher was way worse. He pretty much single handily cost us the 2010 Arkansas game.

Yea, he intercepted it because Collins pushed the WR out of bounds.

He's been much better lately against the pass. Not amazing, but much better. I think he is very solid at this point.

Have seen him go for the big hit a few times and just literally WHIFF...articulately on sideline routs where he is taking an angle to to the WR. Tells me he still is leading with the head...not only dangerous, but also embarrassing when he misses.

Need reid and simon to step up their play. Loston and the freshman are carrying the load. But it does bode well for the future.

agreed. reid and simon may have been reading too many preseason press clippings. oh, and don't get me started on 4 off sides by Mingo. don't know why he wasn't benched. these guys step up and no one will score on our D.

He definitely looks like he is finally healthy, but agree he has some work to do via the pass.
