The Ware-at-Qb plays and the Mett shots down the field will force Bama/Saban -who are playing their toughest opponent in the upcoming weekend in Miss State- to split their preparation time for the LSU attack.

Question: Since we have 2 weeks and Bama has one week after a tough Miss State opponent, does this really affect Saban's planning? Is this something that really matters, or do ya'll think it is negligible ?

as an LSU fan ill say this now... Saban can do more in one week than most coaches can do in a month.

the only effect not having a bye week before the game will have on bama is if their players get hurt

If I'm Bama, I would make LSU prove they could actually complete one of those shots down the field before I'm worrying about it.

And I'm pretty sure Ware in the wildcat doesn't scare Bama.

I think we have an advantage.

Nick Saban does not have the luxury to look at LSU tape right now. In all honesty, Moo State may be the very best thing going for LSU. They have similar offensive personell.

So we get to see everything: what play-calling works. Will hurry-up offense work? Screens? We are at a huge advantage.

Also, we have extra time to work on, an execute 4th down plays. I will say this, LSU has some of the best 4th down creativity and play-calling in the SEC, and that probably explains why we kick alot if field goals even when it's 4th and goal from the 3. Our 4th down plays are for very special situations, not every situation.

Make no mistake about it, we will be mire ready than Saban

Saban Is prepping hard for MSU. Didn't you see the quotes. The 2 weeks are going to help LSU heal up and hopefully get better conditioning. I for one am of the opinion Chief pulls his magic tomahawk out and has the most brilliant defensive strategy know to man drawn up for the bama game. If Miles has any tricks up his sleeve or secret weapons or anything, the bama game is the time to pull em out of the hat and use em.

no. He probably worked a little on the lsu gameplan during their open date.

their weakness is their secondary. If Tenn was better coached and had a few more playmakers on offense they could hung around with Bama for 4 qtrs.

The off week gives us 2 advantages:

1. Time to heal and work on execution of gameplan

2. Watching Bama play MSU and reading all the match-ups for both upcoming opponents.

Lest we not forget.... We beat them in 2011 and 2010... AND we had a 4th quarter lead in 2009 with a 1st yr starter JJ at QB....and we took them to OT in 2008 despite 2 pick 6's and lost due to another ill-advised pass in the endzone.

Both teams will be sky high....I have no doubt.

Another 9-6 type game is very possible.
