I'll never get the disdain for Jim Hawthorne. I love the guy, and I am old enough to remember John Ferguson.
I don't think he's a technically superior announcer or anything, but he's also not deserving of the jabs he takes either.

the people who are so quick to put down on Jim love to listen to that mono toned bore Hanigriff. I listen to tapes of that fricker when I can't fall asleep. He shouldn't be announcing on radio, he should be making self help tapes for people with insomnia.

Had a friend who is not an LSU fan who caught LSU radio on his Satellite radio...messaged me after the game "Tell the voice of the LSU Tigers to get a new sidekick. Whoever this guy is is an idiot. He hasn't made an intelligent comment the whole game"

I'd rather look at Charlie than listen to him,, that should tell you something.
Charlie is knowledgeable I'll admit that, but he's boring as frick.. As I said earlier Jims calls are exciting... That's what I want out of an announcer.

was he talking about Doug Moreau? or maybe the on field reporter Gordy Rush? Moreau is a former tiger receiver and is pretty spot on with his assessments. Gordy is Jordy's replacement so I only see him on replays.

I thought maybe he got confused and thought Hawthorne was the sidekick. If not I'm not sure...but I thought he was funny...I hate our radio guys normally...
