Just curious where the fault lies with those? Is it on the quarterback for not getting enough air under a ball? Poor offensive line work? Bad play calling? Bad luck? Or just good defensive plays?

Seems like we had an abnormal amount of them last night. Not really bitching I've honestly always wondered the cause and now seemed like a relevant time to ask.

QB staring down receivers, slow to release, giving DL time to react?

D-line is reading Metts eyes and Jumps in the zone. We should do the same when we can't get to the QB.

It probably had a lot to do with one DE is 6'5" all world and the other is 6'8" and not far behind the first.

When most of your passes are intended to be thrown 7 yards downfield, the balls are more likely to be batted down at the line of scrimmage.

Also, most came on short drops. OL is supposed to cut the DL to bring them down and make throwing lanes. USCs DL is athletic to avoid the cut blocks and stay on their feet.

The one that frustrated me during the game was the one that Clowney batted down on a 3rd down play later in the game. SC brought the house on that play, but Clowney backpedalled a few steps off the line in order to jump and tip the slant. The problem was, had that pass got to the WR, it would have been a long td pass because there wasn't a safety in the middle of the field.

Clowney made a huge play, but damn that would have been a nice break for LSU.

I've seen him do it in the off season at the rec to draw the foul. You don't pump fake to sike d-lineman.

Sorry if I missed the sarcasm.
