Fair enough. You have your opinion and I have mine. I smell funny business, and that's my stance. The above would have been said about Paterno about a year ago as well. People DO LIE. Not saying he is, but you have to be open to the possiblity and you have to at least credence and understanding to my opinion. It's a college football program with big time money swirling around. It's similar to Texas A&M suspending that kid for the LaTech game instead of the Florida game. it's similar to what Mizzou is doing with their suspending players. I smell fishy business and most of the time I am right.

I think there are some actions that deserve forgiveness but one must still bear the consequences. I don't know all the facts, but the DWI is already borderline with me (I can understand how a normal person can get one of these without even being drunk...I probably should have gotten a couple)...but coupled with the drug allegations, I got the sense that this probably wasn't his first run in. Again, maybe I'm wrong. But if he does correct his life and right the ship, great. I'd be glad to root for him at another school that would accept him. But I for one, would not be an advocate of allowing him to return to a team that I run (if I were in Patterson's shoes). Forgive the person, but not the crime.

You really think I'm out to get TCU? My statement was simply that TCU seemed like they were playing games...much like current BCS conference schools do. Am I wrong? Are you guys running the only clean program out there out of the current BCS schools?

It's all about liability. Of course. If a company feels like they are legally bound to drug test, they will do it regardless of how pervasive it is. If you want to work here, you've got to meet these requirements bud. And I find that to be true for high paying salary, college degreed jobs at more than 50% of the Fortune 500's out there (e.g. excluding being a McDonalds burger flipper). Every big boy job I've had since college required a drug test and allowed for random screenings. Of course no one would drug test if there wasn't liability involved.
