I have a patternmaster. It makes nice even tight patterns. Was it worth the money I spent on it? For strictly duck hunting, no frickin way. I got it for buckshot which it handles very well.

You have to be a really good shot to shoot birds a long way away with a full or x full choke. If you really want to shoot birds from 40 years, you need better amnunition. Buy some heavy shot or at least heavy metal.
The most versatile "tight" choke for waterfowl hunting is probably improved modified.
