as far as UF and Auburn defenses go, were they too strong and not have enough weaknesses for us to exploit? not one?
certainly against Auburn, turnovers and penalties were much bigger factors than their D. Some of the playcalling vs. Florida made no sense, but mistakes were still costly. But breaking down the opposing D isn't Les' deal...he's certainly not the only coach that doesn't do that though, Mike Leach has said he just worries about running his offense and not what the other team does on defense.

i get what you're saying, but i'm not really railing on les as much as i'm railing on stud/krag.
someone's gotta see some deficiencies on the opposing defense to exploit, especially if nothing's working. in-game adjustments, something.
and Leach? hell, dude doesn't give a shite about anything else, much less a defense.

Well, that might be somewhat understandable, if we weren't doing the meerkat, and struggling with getting our calls or personnel in consistently over the past 5 years. Kind of oxymoronic, isn't it?
Come to think of it. Kind of explains us perfectly. Miles doesn't care about breaking down the opposing D, but spends time staring back and forth before running the play he's already called.
Even teams that don't match up physically with us have managed to use scheme to their advantage over the years. For those teams that do match up, the recipe is simple. Make them play pitch and catch. We can't do it.
