The suspensions last year were just really strange. I still don't think anyone has any idea what happened. Every time Grant had a press conference he'd say no decision has been made yet and he'll say something at the next press conference.

Pollard's game doesn't match his size or position. Outside of a couple flashes, he's looked out of place and awkward. Brutal is an understatement on the frontcourt.

He'll be on the hot seat as much as an Alabama basketball coach can be on the hot seat, but his contract is terrible. He signed a 7 year contract worth $1.8 million per year originally out of VCU, and after last year he got a Shula-esque raise and extension through 2019. I don't know what his buyout is, but I'm sure it's high.

Is Maymon really not going to play this year?

Yeah, never really understood what went on with those. The way those players' statuses were just in limbo for a while with no real explanation was very strange.

Pollard being a 5 star was an absolute joke. Definition of a tweener and doesn't have the athleticism or skill needed to overcome it. That plus the way his recruitment was handled just added more red flags. Seemed like the perfect Stansbury player to me all the way.

I don't think Grant is as bad as Shula, but I have really been surprised with this drop off. He reminds me of Cuonzo some too, so it is a little concerning.

Yeah, Maymon is on board now with the redshirt it seems. Wanted to play this season, but I think he's fine with things now that he's missed the entire non conference schedule. Looks like they're going to play this season out and try to squeeze into the tourney and put all the eggs into next year's basket with Hubbs coming in and everybody else coming back. They were kind of missing another post to go with Stokes after Nichols went with Memphis, so this is kind of the perfect situation in some ways for the staff to try and make one big run with this group next year.
