re: Good low recoil rifle for 8 year old to grow into?

I killed my first deer at age 8 with a 30-30. I used it until I was 10 and then switched to a Remington 7600 30-06. I was not big for my age by any means but I was not small either. I practiced A LOT with a 10/22 so I knew how to shoot. I then shot my hunting rifle just a few times before the season to get used to the exact rifle. I was never overexposed to the recoil so it never bothered me.
