I gave hime the option of a Cricket .22 or a bow and he chose the bow. Either would be locked up to where he couldn't get it unless I was around. He's my outdoor loving child, the other one is an "inside" kid so he's probably getting an Ipod or a Nintendo DS.

Get him a toy first. 5 is way too young in my opinion.

I'm with you here. I dont see my children using any sort of bow until they are 8 or older. I'd be afraid they'd hurt themselves or someone. Just not mature enough IMHO...
