west virginia's offense? No.

oregon high-flying speed attack? No.

it takes fast defensive ends and linebackers. It takes ball-hawking, nfl-caliber DBs. It takes a smart game management that sometimes makes games boring as hell.

it takes the opposite game plans of the USCs and FSUs.

so, you ungrateful morons waiting for lsu's offense to put up 500+ yards a game need to review the last decade of sec dominace and see what makes a national champion.

Agree. However the most important ingredient is not turning the ball over!

Goes without saying IMHO, but the other previous posts are well received as well.

Alabama last year was a carbon copy. Tough as nails defense, good running game, average to above average QB play.

What??!! You mean you don't need a QB like Peyton Manning who can sling to win it all? Oh shite, he really didn't win. It was Tee Martin the next year who won it all after Manning left.

I still don't understand why LSU can't have the dominant defense AND a high scoring offense. Florida 2008 did. LSU 2007 was led by the offense.

It takes balance on offense and a good defense. Can't be one dimensional.
