I have played skyrim until the disc about broke and now im pretty bored with it since any DLC is few and far between for this fifth installment. I have read all over that The Witcher 2 is better than skyrim in almost every way. Can anyone give me a rundown of what this game is and how it works?

Combat is the hardest to get used to but once you do it's ok. The game is not forgiving if you mess up and you will die. Graphics rock, naked chicks, hummers, sex with chicks. The story is superb and there are two quest paths that you can take, two play throughs is a must, once you finish one side and play the other the story lines tie together great. Skyrim will give you more played time if you finish all the achievements, but Witcher 2 is a much better game. Once you get about half way through act 2 you will become overpowered like you do in Skyrim though.
It's the same genre of game and that's where the similarities end. You can put your rig to the test with this game. I say all of this and I have 220+ hours in Skyrim and only aboutt 45 in Witcher 2.

To answer your original question, comparing TW2 and Skyrim is like comparing a BioWare game to Skyrim. They're both RPG's, but they are very different in many ways. Skyrim (and pretty much every other Bethesda game lately) is a sandbox/open world experience. There's no set order for quests other than the storyline. There's also no cutscenes. TW2, much like BioWare games, is more of a linear RPG with most of the characters getting a really good development. It's easy to get engrossed in the story and attached to your character. There are plenty of cutscenes that illustrate the great plot. If you liked games like Mass Effect and Dragon Age: Origins, you'll like TW2. However, TW2 is a much more mature story and contains pretty graphic content. I prefer both, so I enjoyed it.

Never heard of it before, but it sounds like my kind of game. Just got dark souls, though, so i'll try it out at aome point when I get the time. Between this, dark souls, and xcom i'll be set for a while hehe
