Adolfo's is reallyt good. The best place to eat on Frenchmen. I was going to crown Melange but the last time I went it wasn't as good and someone else here had a bad experience.
I remember the first time I went to Adolfo's was on a first date, and it turned out to be a good choice. Had to wait 45 minutes in the Apple Barrel, but they had a good singing pair on stage playing old style blues, and lite rock. Drinks are pretty cheap, and the crowd is small. The restaurant has 12 tables, and is cash only, with an ATM in the restaurant(or bar, I just know one is in there just in case).
I had got the Veal marsala which was a special that day. She got Veal with Ocean sauce and we had a bottle of wine. With tip (also had escargo for an app) it was $106.
Without the wine it would have been 60 or so.
Good price, IMO for the quality. It's not too bright up there and presentation is lacking. There are no non-edible frills on plates, no rim garnish or garnish period.
It is a really good place and you will enjoy it. I just find myself going to Da Piero for 'fancy italian'. Even though Aldolfo's really isn't fancy, going there is an event. You can't expect a quick dinner as there is always a wait.
