Brace yourselves: a person with knowledge of the negotiations says NFL owners are dug in and opposed to further compromise.

Good. If I'm miserable having to watch my Saints others should be miserable too.

fans are gonna have to hit the owners where it hurts if anything is going to change.

But Joe Horn said the replacement refs will be gone by next week! Now I'm confused and don't know what to believe.

Last week, I could have accepted the "controversy is a good thing" argument, but not now. Too many dollars are waged on this shite and careers at stake to have this debacle continue.

No way owners budge while the media is covering it every minute. Media scrutiny almost guarantees they don't conceed.

A few more blown call/games may force the hands of the players. I think they actually may end up mutinying if things continue as they have been for the next couple of weeks.

yes, they are gonna walk away from millions of dollars because a blown call may cost them a win
and then they're gonna go make millions doing other things in life

It just doesn't make any sense.. This sport makes unreal amount of money.. why put this poor quality out on the field.

Greedy old men, and get greedier. Imagine that

because the fans keep paying to see it. If fans boycotted a couple of games, both at stadiums and on television, this issue would be quickly resolved. The owners and networks only understand one thing... money

It wouldn't surprise me to find out that the ratings have been higher this year because more people are curious about the officials.

It was like 3.3 million. Or 100k per team. This is based off of FB posts so take it with a grain of salt.

you are probably correct, hopefully the newness of poorly officiated games wears off soon and the ratings will decline

I'm in the minority then cause I turned the games off this weekend and will just keep up with scores from now on. The games are way too freakin long now and painful to watch IMO plus I hate Goodell so god damn much for ruining football for me. I'll stick to porn.

Because they can. Remember when there were replacement players ? That was before the electronic age. No fantasy football ? No internet wagering ?
I'd like to see a show of hands of how many of you will boycott the game and all it's sponsors. That's the only way the owners will get the message. And they know the fans don't have the guts to do it.
