Spanish lake launch?????

Is the launch closed?!!! Just drove by and there were signs and barrels blocking ramp!

Yes. For about three years now.
Braud Bayou launch is open and you can get back there now, but won't be able to when the water goes down. I imagine they have a little water in the lake right now. They had a few boats at the launch this weekend.

Well the reason i asked that is because the last 2 years i have hunted the lake when water was present, and launched at the older woman's house off hwy 74. Also i know that some people hunted there opening weekend last week...... so i went to make an evening hunt today and the launch was closed. Didnt know if anyone had any scoop on why it was closed.

They used to do decent. Now the only hope you have is if they have a hurricane a few weeks before the season-a la this year-that dumps a whole bunch of water. Otherwise you'll be hunting over dirt.

It was opened Saturday. Not sure why its closed now. The water may be too high and you may not be able to get under the bridges. The guy that lives in the doublewide across 74 is the guy that runs it. You can go knock on his door or stop by if you see him outside.

Where is this launch at?! I'm not seeing it in a map and I drive 74 all the time... Never notice a boat launch

It's off 74... Gotta have someone show you... It's pretty inconspicuous! It's by a bridge about a mile or 2 before the jail. Anyways.. Someone told me that the guy got pissed off and was only going to let 6-7 trucks park in his yard! Sucks cause now If you don't know someone in SLHC you can not launch to get in there!! Efffffff!

The one south of Baton Rouge on the Ascension/Iberville line. Not the one West of Lafayette.

They probably just paid him off to close it down, or leased it from him.
They started to get some serious money back there recently. A couple clubs doubled dues and others got bought out. It sucks, but it is what it is. A bunch of greed bastards have completely ruined it all.

I see the little launch on google maps... Soo if I show up thurs morning to go scout back there for ducks I won't be trespassing? What about launching from that place by alligator
