They have a place near St. Gabriel on Nicholson that sells shipping containers I think.

If you are in N.O., look up Walter Boussou. They sell them...

That's how he got started... with a water hose and box of Tide cleaning shipping containers.

ETA: But seriously, the company is Boussou America or something like that...

Where are you puting the barge. Might be smart to look for places close to where you will use it. That won't be fun to move long distances, either by road or water...

The LA Sportsman magazine usually has advertisements for companies selling shipping containers. Some of them are remodeled into camps, but some are basic. You can try their website, may have some in classifieds.

Container camps are more common than I thought...

Now where to find the barge...

My idea is stemming from here:
Pontchartrain Landing Houseboats

They're asking $165,000.00 for these.

I don't think that is any thing but unjustifiable.

Concept is awesome at Pontchartrain Landing... Horrible location. They have alot of $$$ sunk out there. "Infinity" pools, bar, etc.

We've built several over the years. The barges are great for the storage they provide, but they will eventually leak, so keep that in mind. The last one we built we used the foam filled PVC pontoons that bolt together. System is pretty sweet, to add on all we have to do is bolt to the existing steel frame. We did add an aluminum section with hatch to house MoDad and decoys.

I just saw a barge, appeared to be made of aluminum on Hwy 70 north of Morgan City with a sign for sale. It appeared to be in your size range for $27k.
