Best drills to do at driving range for accurate Iron shots?

The biggest missing piece of my game right now is accurate approach shots.
Example: Last time I played I shot a 78, but I only hit 7/18 greens (4 of them with a wedge). Luckily I was 6/11 scrambling for pars, but if I could just hit 10-11 greens my score could be so much better.
Also when I get on the green I'm still usually 20-25 feet away...
My problem isn't miss hitting, I usually catch it fairly solid, I don't really draw or fade severely much either. I just pull or push a lot. It's like I just miss where I'm aiming...
So what's the best thing to do to help my accuracy? (I miss left and right but I know I'm lined up correctly, or at least I know HOW to line up correctly and I do it)
thanks guys

Are you lining up with the pin?
Start finding a place on the green to land the ball so that when it finishes, you are within 10 ft of the cup.

first of all know exactly how many yards you are from your target. shoot at the same target over and over. hit hte same club over and over. adjust until you are consistently 10-20 feet from the target every time.

I'm lining up to where I want the ball to land on the green (usually I line up a little left so I can draw it).
Problem is I often pull the ball so it starts where I want it to end up and draws off the green. Or sometimes I just straight up miss one way or the other, and I mean by like 30 feet off the green. But I hit it solid so it's not like I'm severely miss hitting

That's what I've been doing but it's not really helping me to just go out and hit. I was wondering if there was a good drill that's easy to do? I found some online but I thought you guys might know some good ones

"move the ball back in your stance" I think is the correct answer to that problem.
BP may show up. Lets see what he says.

I used to have it back in my stance, but I know having the ball behind the center of your body is incorrect according to most golf experts so I've been working on correcting that. When the balls back in my stance it's hard to control the draw and it rolls out too far with anything more than an 8 iron. Right now (for normal shots) I start with the ball in the middle of my stance, maybe slightly behind with a full PW, and it moves up slightly by club. I learned this from multiple golf books and tips. I could be doing it wrong
And yea I'm kind of hoping BP shows up

are you just pounding balls one after another or are you stopping and doing your pre-shot between each shot? you need to treat each shot like its a real golf shot.

This sounds like an alignment problem.
Are you consistently missing the green to a certain side or is it a mixed bag?

It's a mixed bag but if I had to pick one I'd say I miss left slightly more.
And Ryno I go through my routine before every shot

maybe go take a lesson from a pro. could be a closed club face at address, could need to weaken your grip abit or not flip your hands at the bottom. many reasons for a left shto

If I could afford to spend money on a pro I wouldn't be here asking the MSB

That's the chart for the technique of moving your back foot up depending on the club instead of moving the ball?
No I move the ball slightly up or back in my stance depending on the club. Honestly it's pretty close to slightly in front of middle with all my irons until I get to a 5 and then it goes up a little more.
I've messed around with the back foot thing and I know the chart you posted, I've had more success with my way, but maybe I could try that method again

On a related note, what do you think about Michael Breed being awarded the PGA Teacher of the Year, BeaverPro?

yeah, that's the constant ball positioning s.o.t.
I was messin' with TRyno.

What I see more often than not, are players who try to aim their shot, instead of hitting the ball where they are aimed! Next time you go play just try to aim your shot then just think "swing" not, "where do I want this ball to land." What it sounds like is you are slowing down to get good contact, but going slower causes your wrists to close at impact making the ball go left.
