FSU and Okie State go out and put up big numbers against competition the likes of Idaho. Les has never put on a show like that when he could. Would you want to see the Tigers hang that many on a team, or do you prefer that Les will take his foot off the gas?

EDIT QUESTION AFTER SCORING 63.

So..... NOW does everyone who wanted Les to stop at 41 points feel the same way?

what difference is there in beating a team 50-0 and 70-0?

you're not learning anything new about your team.

You have an opponent beaten down thoroughly, just run the ball until the clock stops and get out with no injury

There is no sense in beating a team that bad.

It's almost a lose-lose playing these teams. You beat them by 70 and you get mocked for scheduling such a weak opponent. You only win by 50 or less, and red flags are raised because you didn't beat them by 70.

In the last two games LSU let off the gas. You could tell that they could score at will. However there really is no point at putting up more points than they did. Half the stands are going to clear out regardless.

The real question about those annihilation games is that at what point do they pull the first string?

Les will make an effort to not run up the score.
Look back and you'll see he really wants to score in the forty's and no more.
When we go up by forty our offense go into the short yardage offense. If we manage to score late it will be because somebody makes a great play, like an interception for a touchdown or braking through the scrum for a long touchdown

Okie State puts up 84 one week and then gives up 59 the next (losing by 21). It's clear that running up the score is unnecessary and not indicative of how good a team really is.

I'd prefer to win by a few touchdowns, make sure everyone gets out healthy, and see a few 2nd and 3rd stringers make solid contributions.

What goes around, comes around. I remember when Nebraska and Oklahoma were running up the score on some of the lesser Big 8 teams back in the day only to have those teams return the favor in later years.

We still owe Florida for that 58-3 buttfracking we took from them in '93.

Only Ole Miss, Tulane or USCe (at least under the current head coach). Other than that, 49 to 52 points, with the opponent under 20 is sufficient. There is no reason to act like barbarians unless it is warranted.

I'd like to see the starters pulled mid way through the 3rd quarter with key back ups playing from that point. But, i'd like to see the back ups playing the same type of offense or defense that we would normally play so they get used to it. If the back ups end up pouring on points then so be it.

Im glad Les handles this the way he does. No sense in demoralizing them.

Take the foot of the gass. No sense in humiliating anyone. Margin of victory is a non factor for the most part. We are in the sec, just handle buisness

I still wish we had Mett's TD against Ole Miss back

If we beat someone 70-0, but do so running dives up the middle, then I have no issue. It's big boy football.

I will say this, I think kneeling on the ball at the goal line with 5+ minutes left against Ole Miss is MUCH MUCH MUCH MUCH better/more humiliating than having Mett score there. I hate Ole Miss

I wouldn't mind us putting up an extra 14 points in garbage time just to see Rivers throw a few passes. The other coach has to understand that the backup needs to get some throws in.

I only wish we could dish out an absolute thrashing on Urban's Florida team. That would have been the sweetest.
