but the simple fact of the matter is that you, nor I, actually know.

You are correct, we cannot KNOW. However, one could guess that playing your best player gives one the best chance to win.

Are you guys just defend CLM at all cost guys? I do not understand the defense of Mett not playing more last year when the 2 Sr. qb's were doing so poorly.

JL did pretty good until the AL game, but JJ was a horrible qb. He will not go down as the worst simply because he had a great team around him.

Up to the Bama game......how did JL play poorly?

Did JJ not play well vs. Bama? WIN in T-Town?

If Bama doesn't get a mulligan, are we even having these conversations???

Let it go dude

But we were winning.

I just don't find use in lamenting over it. This thread has been done about 500 times before. It's September 9, 2012. We're two games into this season. I can't change last year, and I don't know why things happened. But I know we were all fine with winning during last season until we lost the NC game. Then everyone decided to play revisionist history and tell us what would have happened if Mett played. It doesn't work that way.

The offense rolled against Ole Miss and Arkansas. It halted when we played two elite defenses in Georgia and Alabama.

Why is it so hard to connect the dots?

Were you at all the team practices? Spring training? On the sidelines during games? Did you communicate daily with the assistant coaches regarding player progression and gameplan? Have you ever led a team to an SEC Championship?

I suspect the answers to all those questions would be "No," which means not only that you are privy to less team information than CLM, but also that you have less credibility when it comes to decision-making as a head coach.

Don't think he will ever be remembered in any way by LSU fans as anything but inept as QB. He never improved as QB any over his 3 years starting. It always looked like he regressed and never figured it out. He ran it seemed out of fear in the pocket. I think he should have been a running back or receiver, he may have had success there.
