They are definitely more strict than the other campuses I have visited. I've been to Gainesville a couple of times but I don't plan on going back. I'm not a big fan of their pregame atmosphere, give me Bama, Auburn, UGA, etc over UF any day of the week. Now, I was impressed with the actual game atmosphere but nothing before that.

Hey geniuses..... People don't tailgate @ UF games cause there's great bars & restaurants directly across the street from Ben Hill Griffith stadium. It's definitely different from LSU game day experience but a nice change of pace. Also UF actually has a sports bar on campus that connects to their mammoth mall bookstore. It overlooks a swamp area too. Very cool....

I went in 2008. One member of our group was a U F grad and he was busted trying to sneak a flask in and had to throw it out before the cop confiscated his ticket. When he questioned it the cop told him one more word and he was going to jail.

Another guy in our group, an LSU alum, was checked entering in the stadium and was immediately arrested for trying to sneak a flask in. He said the jail was full of LSU fans busted for trying to sneak a flask into the stadium.

Later in the night two LSU fans at the top of the nose bleed section were minding their business while watching the game and were arrested for having a flask under their seat. A cop hanging out at the section portal looked up, saw the flask under their seat, walked up twenty something rows, asked to see their drink, smelled the liquor, and arrested them.

We also had few other highly intoxicated fans in our section get arrested, but these idiots got what they deserved.

Sneak it in at your own risk.
