Wrong.... If they have a gun the may shoot first, with frazzled nerves and adrenaline you could mis pump the gun and fail to load.....
The only sound they should hear is boom....

100% agree. The time a gun malfunctions the most more than any other time is when a person is manipulating the action.
The same thing applies to anyone who carries their handgun in condition 2 with an empty chamber. If you really think you'll be able to draw and rack a round with success under stress you're kidding yourself.
