I'm glad they went with the opening they showed in theaters. She's a shitty actress even though she is nice to look at.

Yep. She is awful. Like whatshername from Xmen First Class.
I didn't like that scene.

Thank God they went with the other opening. That one was pretty shitty.

I absolutely abhor when a movie or tv show shows you the end or aftermath first and then goes to beginning with something like "48 hours earlier..." Why do this? It is stupid. Ever hear of a book that did this? No, you haven't. I am immediately inclined to dislike whatever I am watching whenever a movie or tv show does this.

That's not an uncommon literary technique. In fact, God Bless You Mr. Rosewater takes it to its logical extreme and keeps telling you that Mr. Rosewater is X many minutes away from having Kilgore Trout bite off his finger.

Thank god they didn't go with that one. It sucked.

SPOILERS
That opening would have cost them 20 million on the opening weekend take.
And it sucks that she is going to replace Colston going forward.
You knew his death was coming when they both introduced her and they made him "personable"
"His first name is Agent...."

Well, I hate anything not in chronological order from beginning to end. I walked out of the theater during Flags of our Fathers for that reason (only movie I ever walked out on). I live life chronologically and that is the only way I want to experience a story.

FWIW, this is the same guy whose criteria for movies he likes is:

Basically any movie with huge stakes (generally the world), some type of savior, awesome CGI, and a passable plot (not looking for a Shakespearean play here).

I mean....the horridness of this opening cannot be overstated. The actress playing Maria Hill does such a shitty job in this scene.
The line, "We're at war and he's thinking about superheroes" was delivered so poorly that, if not for all the high production values surrounding her, you would think that this was an amateur production that some nerds put together and posted on YouTube. Apparently they were trying to set up the Civil War storyline from the comics but the quality of the acting just took me out of the scene completely. They needed to flash the Hulk on the screen to wake us up.
