He's been trying to stay conservative on the rain total predictions, but he now says BR could get upwards of 20 inches..
Say waaaaat?

That's more than I bargained for. All I wanted was a few more droplets Is this prediction realistic?

Isaac is in no hurry. You could see two feet before this shite is over.

I'm in Baton Rouge. So far we've been "hunkering down" and haven't seen anything

I really don't think BR is going to get as much rain as New Orleans. Surely, once this thing starts moving northwards again, it's gotta speed up a bit...

What direction is it heading right now? Last I checked at 11ish it looked like it was taking a small westward jog with not much movement north.

Knock on wood, but I'm shocked I still have power. Winds have been howling for hours now. Thousands in St. Bernard Parish are without power. I, myself, have had a few surges, but have not lost power...yet. About an hour ago I heard a loud noise coming from my backyard, while at the same time my entire house shook. It felt like a mini-earthquake. Didn't know what it was until I looked into my backyard a few minutes ago and saw my neighbors big tree had been completely uprooted, and is now a part of my property. I'm lucky for 2 reasons: 1. It didn't knock power out from my house, and 2. My car is literally about 15 feet away from the tree. Crisis averted..for now.

yep. About 5 hours ago he was really hesitant to say we'd get a foot of rain. I think he has the current estimate at 21.75 in.

power just went off and back on for the first time...central area

according to TWC, it's currently stationary. Unreal.

Looking at the radar loop, it looks like a VERY slight movement to the NW.

Why were they trying to interview with a guy with an unbuttoned shirt, holding a skateboard, at 2AM in Nola?

It seemed like TWC guy wanted him to get on the board and let the wind push him down the street. kinda stupid imo.

You should start using words such as think, believe, should, etc instead of "will" when making your predictions since you're always fricking wrong.

21 inches for BR? Did Pat make any guesses for increased or decreased winds?

That worries me more than rain, just from a personal standpoint.

I assume he thinks this will stay over BR like it is doing over New Orleans right now?

I'm no geologist, but I just don't see that happening like this.

not that I'm aware. I just saw the graph that showed BR getting more rain than nola.

ETA: fwiw, I don't believe we'll get 21+ inches...I0-15 seems more reasonable. This is based on nothing but my skepticism.
