ESPN reported Gleason's quotes as truth on the radio yesterday. 100-1 odds they don't correct themselves today.

ESPN seems a bit gung-ho to trash the Saints. Are they still pissed that the Saints beat their poster child Peyton Manning in the Super Bowl?

This makes me giggle everytime I see someone post this statement.
Their should be a group for all Louisianians (is that right?) that have all these conspiracy theories.

After re-reading this about 15 times, why should ESPN apologize?
Here's what Gleason stated he said:
"The group I was with ... no one seemed shocked."

vs.

ESPN stating he said:
"The real problem was no one seemed shocked. There was no discussion of 'Wow, did we just hear that?'"

You're nitpicking hardcore to split hairs between those statements. Does the "Wow, did we just hear that?" make the story better or worse? Definitely arguing fine lines on this one!

So Gleason didn't mean to impugn his former teammates. Instead, he's only declaring war on the ENTIRE SPORT OF FOOTBALL.

Phew, that's a relief

Wtf are you and Alejandro talking about?

The issue is, they quoted him as saying "The real problem" is nobody was shocked.

That is worlds apart from him saying nobody he was with was shocked.

That's not nitpicking. They are saying Gleason had a problem with what Williams said, that's not what the real quote implies.

I am laughing because you retards are all saying "phew. he didn't mean to attack the Saints. Everything's cool now".

The dude is trying to kill the game of football, and he's tying his genetic condition that he'd have almost certainly developed regardless to do so. That's far worse, IMO. Yeah I'll kind of give him a pass because he's Steve Gleason but at the same time I'm not gonna lie - I love football and I seriously dislike all these liberals who are trying to kill it.

How can ya'll not see that this is WORSE?

You must be the only mother fricker that doesn't know that football is dangerous.

Gleason is putting the blame where it belongs.

How can you not see that he is giving his opinion as a football player and you are giving your opinion as a complete f@cking jack-arse who never played the game but makes his sweaty slimey dollars off of it. God I can't stand you anymore. Get the f@ck off here.

Edited for sh!thead

The great majority of ALS patients have been found to have no genetic traits.
Also the great majority have been found to have sustained head injury's. They found out a guy named Lou Gehrig had sustained multiple head injuries including multiple times he was knocked out. They also found no history of ALS in his family. Get your facts straight before you flame next time.

Since it's been determined that his ALS may have been brought about by concussions, he's had that position.

BTW, the only people who were shocked by Williams's speech are those who were preconditioned to have faux outrage at anything Saints related.
