Miguel Cabrera Is Ridiculous

He just does not get enough publicity for what he does. He's got to be hands down the best hitter in baseball. It's ridiculous that he's been doing it for so long and he's only 29. Where will he end up on the HR list? He's at 306 and I'd say 550-600 is possible.

He is in fact ridiculous. And about as good of a player as you can be and still be underrated. He's had the fortune of really good health which has been nice and if he stays healthy and keeps up his pace, he could have some nasty all time stats.
Hands down the best hitter in baseball is up for debate though. A healthy Joey Votto is a killer ball player and could easily have that title. The way Hamilton started the year off you thought he was going to be the greatest freaking player of all time but has looked like crap for a couple of months now. I would have Cabrera in my top 3 though. A healthy Matt Kemp, Albert Pujols, Braun and Cano are up there as well.

I believe he is currently known as the best hitter in the MLB.

He's great, but I think Joey Votto has a shout for that title as well.

He's better than Votto. He's as consistent as they come

he's as good as it gets for me until I see Votto. But Cabrera is outstanding.
Trout though, while missing the longevity and consistency aspect, is a better hitter.
There's a lot of crazy good talent floating around right now.

Nah.
Basically identical BB rate. Cabrera has a much lower K rate and a higher ISO. Despite the huge difference in BABIP their slash lines are really close.
When you factor in Trout's speed, he's probably a better offensive player. He can steel bases, go 1st to 3rd, turn a ball in the gap into a tripple. But as far as just at the plate, Miggy > Trout (for now).

I watched a game earlier this week where there were runners on 2nd and 3rd. The catcher kept calling for the ball inside and the pitcher kept waving it off. Finally after a little back and forth, he threw it inside which Cabrera naild down the left field line. All on an 0-2 count I believe.
I think if you took a poll of MLB pitchers right now of who they fear the most at the plate, I'd have to think Miguel Cabrera will top that list.
