Jon could still be the son of Ned Stark and Ashara Dayne. This might actually allow him to become the Sword of the Morning, and wield Dawn.
With that said, I would be shocked if R+L=J isn't true. But it would be kind of funny to see the meltdown if it is a smokescreen.
