But when the time was right Tywin showed up in KL fighting for Robert. Putting Jaime in the position where he had no choice but take out the king.

No way Tywin could account for that. Aerys had the greatest hostage imaginable now, and it kept Tywin out of the war until the very end. It would have been much smarter to just have Jaime fighting along side his father and them entering the war much earlier. Its not like Aerys was an extremely formidable warrior either. The only reason they sacked King's Landing is that Tywin knew that after the Battle of the Trident, the war was basically won, and he knew the Lannisters had to be on the winning side or risk extinction. Tywin knew he had to be very quick and sneaky in order to save Jaime. He was absolutely terrified on what he would walk into the Throne Room to see. Plus Jaime killing the King would most likely result in death or the Wall for Jaime, and Jaime got off extremely light for what he did.
