how pumped are you for this season now that you know whats coming
I literally can't wait. fricking Joffrey dying, Tywin dying, And Catelyn's undying are all huge moments.
Iluv is going to be pissed about Dany not doing shite. Actually most non readers will be pissed.
Is there a general consensus on what will probably be the bombshell in episode 9 this season?

theyve cast characters from books 4 and 5 for bran and dany, so they will accelerate their stories. im sure there will be some added stuff as well

I'm not sure if I get what you're saying here.

I know that I'm beyond excited for this season. I'm also going to love lurking the Hodor thread to see their reactions.

some characters from dany and bran's stories that dont appear until Feast and Dance have been cast. while the rest of the characters will be following as normal, dany and bran's SOS stories are over, so they have to get their stories from the next books going

The only Dany chapter from ASoS that the show hasn't covered yet is the chapter when she banishes Jorah. I think it'll definitely occur in this season but out of order; the writers will put some of her ADWD crap first and then have Jorah go bye bye in E9. I also think Tywin will die in E9 or E10.
And, IMO, the Lysa scene needs to happen at the end of E10. For me, the last ASoS Sansa chapter (along with the 2nd Jon chapter in ADWD when he executes Janos) are the best chapters in the series. The Sansa chapter is a HUGE game changer and needs to be identical to how it happened in ASoS.

Gotcha. Yea I figured that out after I thought for a a minute.
I want to get the Red Viper/Mountain show down. That could be so epic.
While Dorne blows, I kinda want to see what beautiful ladies they cast for the Sand Snakes and Arianne.

i think the battle will take up a whole episode, just like blackwater
episode 8 will be mountain vs RV
10 will have tyrion's escape/murder of shae and tywin, as well as only cat
so ready for LF's coming out party

That's was actually a huge WTF moment for me while reading.
It made more sense when she figured out Barristan and Jorah at the same time. I wonder how it happens now.

Another frick Yea moment.
I guess they kill off Joffrey in episode 5 or 6.

Purple Wedding is confirmed to be in E2, I think. I can't wait to see Joffrey die.
Posted on 10/24/13 at 4:32 pm to ladytiger118
That's definitely going to be clutch. The fricking Queen of Thorns.
Posted on 10/24/13 at 4:34 pm to FalseProphet
I think Lena Headey is going to pull off the purple wedding scene well. She really has taken over Cersei in my mind. Some of the casting is a little off, but for the most part it's right on.

I really like Lena's portrayal of Cersei. Some of the hardcore book fanboys/fangirls on the ASOIAF forum bitch about her, but I think she took a rather one-dimensional, Disney 'evil queen' type of character and made her more realistic. It's going to make her downward spiral in seasons 4 and 5 even more fun to watch. Lena said in an interview recently that she's excited for the Walk of Shame scene.
I've been very happy with the casting for the most part, but then again, I didn't start reading the books until Season 3 came on (so for the first 2 seasons I was a Hodor); so a lot of the actors were already ingrained in my mind when I read the books. A lot of people were bitching about Oberyn not being 'brown' enough on other boards but I think Pedro Pascal looks Dornish; they're supposed to look more like Spaniards than people from the Middle East in terms of skin tone (Dornish are technically Rhoynar but some also have Andal/First Men blood mixed in). I trust D&D with that casting decision.
Hell, a lot of fans whine about Kit Harington not being "Jon enough." IMO, it's moreso the writing of Jon and that storyline rather than Kit's acting/portrayal. There was a lot of Wildling-Jon interaction that was left out last season that disappointed me (i.e. there should've been more scenes with Tormund, Jon, and Mance). I do think that he did a good job with having chemistry with Ygritte as well. And I'm really looking forward to his interactions with Stannis in the next 2 seasons...because let's face it, I didn't care much or respect Stannis until he went to the Wall.
However, I think recasting Daario was stupid. Not sure why they decided to recast Daario but we'll see what happens.

I'm pretty sure it will be Tywin's death.

Personally I think this entire season is going to be the Battle for the Wall. It makes me sad though that they may rush Jon becoming Lord Commander and having to give up being Lord of Winterfell.

I'd rather them get to Tywin's funeral this season, and maybe burn the Tower of the Hand. They've built a giant lionhead on set, and I think they say something about that on AFfC.

The main issue is she really isn't sultry enough as Cersei. Not that she's not attractive, but she really doesn't fit the role of someone who is going to have men falling all over her and trying to do her bidding. On top of that she was pretty horrible in season one as Cersei in the acting department as well. She's done a good job since however, she was solid in seasons 2 and 3. But she still doesn't have the look or sex appeal of the character, just the bitchy, haughty part down.
And yeah, Kit is fine as Jon, but the writing for his arc on the show has been subpar.

I actually agree with you. In reading the books, Cersei was the only character I pictured entirely different than the one I saw in the show. Cersei is supposed to be one of, if not the most, beautiful ones in the known world, but she has a nasty streak and great cunning. I just don't see t hat with Lena.
Posted on 10/24/13 at 10:02 pm to FalseProphet
I think that they do make most of Cersei's outfits in the show to be too "mom" looking; book Cersei dressed a lot more like Margaery.
